How Pompano Beach's process works

Pompano Beach handles short term rentals through a permit from the City's Business Tax Receipt Division, applied for online through the Camino portal. The City's checklist asks for copies of the DBPR transient public lodging license, the Department of Revenue certificate of registration in the owner's name, the Broward County tourist development tax account, and both the Broward County and City of Pompano Beach business tax receipts. It also asks for proof of no pending code violations or unsatisfied liens on any Pompano Beach property the owner holds.

The application needs your standard rental agreement, an exterior site plan with property lines, parking, pools, trash storage and fences, and an interior floor plan with every bedroom, exit and fire extinguisher. Staff review it and assess the fee, then inspections are made by appointment with the 24-hour contact person. Permits run October 1 to September 30, so renewal comes every September. This bundle adds Florida's state notices on top.
