What does Fort Lauderdale require a vacation rental to post?

Fort Lauderdale Code §15-278 requires a registered vacation rental to post its certificate of compliance inside the main entrance door, plus a noise statement, a parking sketch, trash pickup days and times, the nearest hospital, the police non-emergency number, a sea turtle notice where it applies, and an evacuation map next to each bedroom door.

The Fort Lauderdale vacation rental posting requirements

  1. Certificate of compliance. Posted on the back of, or next to, the inside of the main entrance door. It shows the responsible party's name, address and phone number, the maximum occupancy, and the sexual offender statement if the City has determined it applies. Code §15-278(9)
  2. Noise statement. A statement that no sound may be plainly audible for one minute or longer at 25 feet or more from the property line between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., or at 50 feet or more between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Code §15-278(5)a
  3. Parking sketch or photo. The location of the off-street parking spaces. Every vehicle tied to the rental must park in the driveway on the property. The City's 2026 inspection checklist also looks for the words “No On-Street Parking is Permitted” on the sketch. Code §15-278(5)b, (1)e and (10)
  4. Trash pickup days and times. Containers may go to the curb no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the day before pickup and must be back before midnight on pickup day. Code §15-278(5)c and (3)
  5. Sea turtle notice, if it applies. The notice of sea turtle nesting season and sea turtle lighting rules, for properties where they apply. Code §15-278(5)d
  6. Nearest hospital. Where the closest hospital is. Code §15-278(5)e
  7. Police non-emergency number. The City's non-emergency police telephone number. Code §15-278(5)f
  8. Evacuation map for each bedroom. A legible building evacuation map, at least 8.5 by 11 inches, posted next to the interior door of each bedroom. Code §15-278(5)g
  9. Summary of the City's rules. A written summary in English of the City rules on noise, parking, garbage and common areas, with citations and instructions for reading the full text. Give it to guests before they arrive and post it near the main entrance. Code §15-275(1) and §15-278(5)

  1. Certificate number in every listing. All advertising must match the certificate of compliance, especially the maximum occupancy, and must include the certificate number. Code §15-278(7)
  2. Noise monitoring device. A device that alerts the owner or responsible party and the guests to noise, with its data kept 180 days and available to the City on request. Code §15-278(12)
  3. Life safety. Interconnected, hard-wired smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, a 2A:10B:C fire extinguisher on each floor, and a landline that can call 911 in the main-level common area. Code §15-278(1)c, d and f
