The City's inspection checklist looks for the informational posting on the wall near the front door, following Code §119.35: the representative's name, address and phone, the license numbers, maximum occupancy, nearest hospital, trash days and bin location, a parking sketch, the noise statement, the evacuation order statement and the sea turtle lighting rules. It also looks for a notice that unreasonably loud noise is prohibited in the backyard or pool area, and, in multi-story homes, an evacuation map of at least 8.5 by 11 inches near or on the front door.
The City's inspection checklist sets a maximum of 2 occupants per bedroom. A bedroom has at least 70 square feet of conditioned space, a built-in closet (free-standing closet organizers don't count), an emergency escape opening, and was legally built as a bedroom.
Yes. The City's Vacation Rental License page says every licensed vacation rental needs a noise level detection device that alerts the owner or representative and the guests, with the data kept 180 days and available to the City on request. The inspection checklist asks for one with a phone app, in the common area where most activity happens.
Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms must be interconnected and either hard-wired or 10-year sealed battery, with a permit. The checklist wants a smoke alarm in each bedroom near the door, one in the hallway within 10 feet of the bedroom doors and one on every level. CO alarms are required only with fossil fuel or an attached garage.
