Refunds
If a file is wrong or won't work, we fix it or refund you. Bought the wrong one and haven't downloaded it? Ask within 14 days. Refund policy.
When do Fort Lauderdale vacation rental registrations expire?
Every registration and certificate of compliance expires September 30 each year. Renewals are due no later than 60 days before that date, a late renewal carries a late fee, and a renewal received after September 30 is processed as a new application (Code §15-281(a)).
What licenses do you need before applying to Fort Lauderdale?
The City wants the state and county licenses first: a Florida DBPR vacation rental license, a Florida Department of Revenue sales tax certificate, a Broward County business tax receipt and a Broward County tourist development tax account. If every booking comes through a platform that collects and remits both taxes, such as Airbnb, a notarized statement saying so replaces the two tax registrations.
What does the Fort Lauderdale responsible party have to do?
The owner appoints a natural person who is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, can respond in person within one hour, gives every guest a written summary of the City's noise, parking, garbage and common area rules, keeps a guest register open to the City, and inspects the rental at the end of each stay. The City must be told of a change within 10 days (Code §15-275).
How long do you have to fix violations found at a Fort Lauderdale inspection?
Rentals are inspected before the first certificate and again every year. Violations must be corrected and re-inspected within 30 calendar days, or the certificate of compliance is suspended until they are (Code §15-279(b)).
Everything one Fort Lauderdale vacation rental needs on paper: register it, post the City's notices, add Florida's state notices, draw the maps and plan for storm season.
